The assembly line is a multi-phase process that requires close
attention to detail. It is where we bring together, inspect and
test the devices, and remove any pieces with defects.
Case Assembly
At this point all of the parts of the radio are collected. The buttons
are inserted, and belt clips or other items are attached in preparation
for the insertion of the circuit board.
Electronic Assembly
During the electronic assembly the chip set, or IC, is randomly
tested for defects. We test the other parts, such as the earphones,
capacitors, transistors, and resistors, as well. Then the internal
parts are placed in their proper position on the circuit board and
they are soldered into position. Once the final components are soldered
in to create an operational product, we retest the final product
for functionality.
Battery
After the radios are tested and meet our stringent quality control
standards, the batteries are either placed in the radio's shell
or in the packaging. In order to ensure the radio is not inadvertently
turned on during shipping, a plastic battery protector is inserted
into the battery housing. All pieces include batteries.
